Kevser Atmaca, Turkey

NİJİ COFFEE CO.

pLEASE TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF:

With a background in dietetics and a keen interest in the intricate world of coffee, I, Kevser Atmaca, have transitioned my lifelong dedication to the coffee industry. What initially began as a passionate hobby alongside my professional endeavors evolved into a full-fledged commitment. For the past four years, I have immersed myself in the realms of coffee history, cultivation, and roasting techniques, delving deep into its rich cultural significance and global impact.

In collaboration with a colleague sharing the same fervor, we embarked on a journey that culminated in the establishment of our own brand, Niji Coffee Roaster, at the close of 2021. Fueled by a relentless pursuit of excellence, we actively engaged in competitions, refining our skills through rigorous training and experimentation.

This journey reached a pinnacle when I emerged victorious as the champion in the prestigious Türkiye Cezve/Ibrik Competition of 2023. This remarkable achievement not only symbolizes personal accomplishment but also serves as a testament to the dedication and expertise invested in the craft.

As I prepare to represent my country on an international stage, I am poised to showcase the culmination of years of passion, perseverance, and relentless pursuit of perfection in the art and science of coffee.

what are you excited to do while you are in Copenhagen?:

At its core, Copenhagen represents the perfect harmony of old-world elegance and modern innovation, inviting travelers to be immersed in its rich cultural fabric, lively atmosphere and warm hospitality. Whether wandering around historical landmarks, savoring delicious delicacies, or simply enjoying the city's laid-back atmosphere, Copenhagen leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who visits, and it will for me too.

what are your interests outside of coffee?:

I love doing research on the department of nutrition and dietetics, which is the department I graduated from. And I associate this issue with the work I love doing now. I enjoy traveling and visiting cafes in different cities and countries. Chatting with baristas allows me to gain new knowledge.

is there anyone you’d like to thank?:

Of course, I have so many wonderful people to thank. First of all, I would like to thank the sponsor Arzum Okka and they are team, then SCA Turkey Coordinator Aslı Yaman and her magnificent team, Mariam Erin, who was my coach, and Alireza Razzaghzadeh, who always agreed to be my coach and stood there, Dear Mr. Gökhan. And I would like to thank many of my uncounted friends. I am grateful to all of you.
